I care deeply about creating projects that tell the stories of marginalized people and those living in the "in-betweens" and gray areas of life.

I also believe that there is humor in tragedy and tragedy in humor. Many of my pieces use dark humor and wit as a coping mechanism against prejudice and discrimination.

I’m very excited by the intersection of digital interactive and live immersive mediums and look to incorporate more multimedia into my works.

The Misadventures of a Wannabe Beauty Guru


Summary: When an early-career makeup artist moves back in with her family during the pandemic, Maddy attempts to become a beauty influencer… but between her mom yelling about birds, sneezing in the background and her ADHD things don’t go quite as planned.

#rememberadam


Summary: Filmed completely over Zoom, #rememberadam follows four friends struggling with the passing of their friend, Adam, at the hands of the police.

Production History: This short was featured in two of Lift Off Sessions showcases, the Hollywood First-Time Filmmaker Festival and honored by Andromeda Film Festival!

Cast: Lynda Cortez, Kate Fahey and Amanda DePinto. Sophie Max lent her expertise behind the scenes!

Twenty-Five and Other Things


Summary: After her 25th birthday, a young biracial woman has a panic attack in her apartment. She escapes to catch butterflies within her mind and attempts to use exercises to aid her recovery. In this abstract short play, a life is on the line in the middle of a quarter-life-mental-health crisis.

Production History: This fifteen-minute play was produced as part of Excellence Theatre’s Dear Black People 2.0 Festival at The Pleasance Theatre.

 

The Thin Gray Line


Summary: A first date, a fight over an incoming engagement (?) and a looming separation. These are the make-or-break conversations that three interracial couples are forced to have after confronting their own biases and the prejudices of those around them.

Production History: This play was workshopped and produced at The Actor’s Rep.
